Abstract:

A total of 150 day old female chickens (Ross 308) were randomly allocated to 2 groups with 5 replicate and 15 chicks in each replicate to determine the effects of cold induced ascites on performance, antioxidant status, blood enzyme activities and bone metabolism. The two experimental treatments were: 1) chicks that reared under normal temperature (NT) and 2) chicks that reared under cold temperature (CT). The experiment was terminated at 42 day of chicken age. Feed intake was reduced significantly by ascites during the starter period. Weight gain of NT birds was higher than CT birds during the starter, grower, finisher and the whole period (P

Effects of Enalapril on growth Performance, Ascites Mortality, Antioxidant Status and Blood Parameters in Broiler Chickens under Cold-Induced Ascites

Six hundred 1-d-old male broilers (Ross 308) were assigned to four experimental groups; each was composed of 5 floor pen replications of 30 birds including control (no enalapril), 15, 30 and 60 ppm enalapril in the drinking water. From d 21 to 49, all the chicks were exposed to low ambient temperature to induce ascites. Mortalities were inspected to determine the cause of death and diagnose of ...

Relationship between venous blood gas parameters, thyroid hormone levels and ascites syndrome in broiler chickens exposed to cold temperature

The objective of this study was to find a relationship between blood gas parameters and thyroid hormoneactivity with ascites syndrome in broiler chickens exposed to cold temperature and receiving a high qualitydiet. One hundred and sixty one-day-old broiler chicks were randomly divided in two equal groups. Toincrease the incidence of ascites, chicks of group 1 were fed ad libitum with a higher ...

Activity of Selected Blood Serum Enzymes in Growing Broiler Chickens

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of age on the response of enzyme activities in blood serum of growing broiler chickens. The research was conducted on Ross 308 chickens. Blood serum samples were collected three times at 14, 21 and 42 days of age. Significant effects of age were found for both aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH).There were no s...

the evaluation of language related engagment and task related engagment with the purpose of investigating the effect of metatalk and task typology

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...
